CHENNAI: Here is the latest about director Vasanth’s next project, Moondru Per Moondru Kaadhal, which has director-cum-actor Cheran and actors Arjun and Vimal playing the lead roles. The popular singers of Bollywood, Kailash Kher and Sonu Nigam, have sung a Tamil number in the movie, the music for which has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The Satham Podathey director, who is known for evergreen melodies in his movies, says, “Only last week, I went to Mumbai to record the song. It has come out well.” However, he is not ready to reveal the genre of the song and where exactly in the movie it will be featured.
Vasanth is awestruck by the speed with which the singers picked up the language. “I’m always particular about the right pronunciation of words and it was amazing to see them singing in Tamil. It was like Prakash Raj speaking Tamil. After the audio releases, people will say that both singers sound like Tamilians,” he smiles. There are five songs in MPMK and the audio is likely to release in March. About 50 per cent of the movie has been shot and the director is waiting for the face off between the Producers’ Council and FEFSI to come to an end to complete the remaining portions.
While it was earlier said that Vasanth’s son Ritvik Varun would make his acting debut through MPMK, the director made it clear that that was not the case. He says his son has joined as an assistant to director Mani Ratnam.
