Actor Vishnupriyan, who impressed  critics and the audience  alike with his performance in Mye, is currently acting in a Malayalam film Simhasanam with actor Prithiviraj.

“Prithivi and I became friends during the shooting of Ninaithalae Inikkum and he insisted that I act in Simhasanam. I immediately agreed,” says Vishnupriyan.

The actor is not new to Mollywood as his debut was in Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Nizhalkuthu (2002) . Simhasanam is his fourth film in Malayalam.

Vishnupriyan says Simhasanam is an adaptation of 1989 blockbuster Malayalam Nadu Vazhigal. He plays Prithivraj’s friend in the film. “The movie is of the genre of Nayagan and Devar Magan in Tamil,” says the actor.

Mye brought me laurels, the actor confesses. Vishnupriyan says he has decided to sign three  films. “One script is set in Madurai and I play an uneducated youth. It’s an interesting story,” says Vishnupriyan.

The actor, who has trained in Koothu-p-Pattarai for six years, says he would like to choose  scripts that any kind of audience can relate to.
