Get ready for 'Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi' sequel

Tamil super hit period-comedy "Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi", which introduced comedian Vadivelu in the lead role, will have a sequel soon, says director Chimbu Devan.

"We are contemplating the idea of filming the sequel very soon with Vadivelu. Discussions are going on and we are likely to make an official announcement soon," Devan said.

A comical satire on the Machiavellian politics practised in the late 18th century, the film was laced with the references to present day happenings in politics, sports and other areas.

Made on a budget of Rs.5 crore, the film was released in 2006 and emerged as a commercial success raking in Rs.15 crore.

Written by Devan, "Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi" was produced by Southern filmmaker Shankar.
