Director-actor Sasikumar’s next film Kutti Puli is all set to hit the screens this Friday. As no big films have released in the last two weeks, expectations are running high on Kutti Puli. Interestingly, the film will be the lone release of the week, making its possibility to rake in the moolah more at the box office.
Actor Lakshmi Menon is playing the female lead and it may be noted that her first film with Sasikumar, Sundarapandian, has just completed 100 days successfully.
Sasikumar is said to have played a real-life Silambam player, Kutti Puli. in the film and had trained under a Silambam master for a few months for his role. Debutant Muthaiah, who assisted Sasikumar in his previous directorial ventures, has directed the film and actor Saranya Ponvannan has played Sasikumar’s mother.
Recently, Sasikumar had screened the film for director Bala, who is said to have been all praise for the former for his acting skills.
Produced by Muruganantham’s Village Theatres, Kutti Puli was later sold to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s RedGiant Movies. Ghibran has scored the music and the album, which has five songs, was released recently.
