Karthik Subbaraj, who had directed Tamil blockbuster horror-thriller "Pizza", is extremely happy that the "Pizza" franchise is continuing and has wished the team of "Pizza 2: Villa" luck and success.
"Pizza 2: Villa", which is slated to release Thursday, is not a sequel to "Pizza", but has been made to keep the "Pizza" franchise flag flying.
"Following the success of 'Pizza', I'm really glad that producer C.V Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment has extended his support a new director to continue the franchise with 'Pizza 2: Villa'. I wish this team great success," read a statement issued on behalf of Karthik.
C.V Kumar, who produced "Pizza", has also funded the second part.
Debutant Deepan Chakravarthy has directed "Pizza 2: Villa" that features Ashok Selvan, Sanchita Shetty, Nasser and S.J Surya in important roles.
