Hindi Remake of OK Kanmani All Set to Begin in December

Manigandan KR

Work on the Hindi version of ace director Mani Ratnam’s breezy romantic entertainer, O Kadhal Kanmani, is all set to begin in December 2015. The Tamil version, which had a simultaneous release with the Telugu version called OK Bangaram, raked in the moolah at the box office and wiped away any doubts that critics might have had about Mani Ratnam losing his ability to make commercially successful films. Sources hint that Mani Ratnam’s former associate Shaad Ali, who directed the Hindi version of the Tamil hit Alaipayuthey (2000), would direct the Hindi version of OK Kanmani as well. The music production would be by A R Rahman and P C Sreeram will handle the camera. However, it is still unclear as to who would reprise the roles of Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon.
