A video of Tamil actor Sivakasrthikeyan being allegedly beaten up by some people at Madurai airport went viral on social media on Sunday.

However, there was no clarity as to who the 'attackers' were. According to rumours, Actor Kamal Haasan's fans had planned the 'attack' to take revenge against the comment on Shruti Hasaan reportedly made by Sivakarthikeyan last month.

The incident is believed to have occurred when the actor was on his way to Tiruchendur to attend a function along with actors Kamal Haasan and Hansika Motwani.

However, a source present  at the airport at the time of the incident said that he was not aware of any such attack on the actor and another source close to the actor also said that there was no truth in the rumours that Sivakarthikeyan had been attacked.  “We are aware of the rumours doing the rounds. However, there was no such attack. Why would anybody attack Sivakarthikeyan? He has not made any negative statements against anybody,” said the source.

Later he took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to share his appreciation of the care and affection he got from his fans. “With all your blessings I’m perfectly alright. Thanks to all d lovely hearts 4 your greatest support at this moment . Your love makes me stronger. Love you all,” he said.

If sources are believed, Kamaal Hasaan has already launched an enquiry regarding the incident. The actor has reportedly asked his aides to find out who were the people behind the incident.
