In a recent media interaction, ‘Vaigai Puyal’ Vadivelu told us that he has been approached by Atlee for Vijay 61. The comedian said, “Atlee narrated the details of the role and I liked it.

Talks are going on, and it’s too early to divulge anything about it.” But it is not known whether he has given a nod to the offer or not.

One may recall that both shared a wonderful onscreen chemistry, which was evident in films including Bhagavathi (2002), Friends (2001), Vaseegara (2003), Villu (2009), Pokkiri (2007) and Kaavalan (2011).

Vijay

This untitled project, which is likely to have Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead, will be bankrolled by Sri Thenandaal Films.

Interestingly, Vadivelu was approached for Theri initially. Since he couldn’t take up the role, it went to Motta Rajendran.

So far, what is known is that KV Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of movies like Baahubali series and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, has penned the story for the flick.

On the other hand, the producers B Venkatrama Reddy and B Bharathi Reddy of the Vijay-starrer Bairavaa has issued a statement that they had cancelled the audio launch plans due to the sudden demise of the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

The statement read, “We have seen her as our family member, and decided to call off the plans. Vijay has also requested that we launch the audio in a simple ceremony on December 23.”
