Vijay Antony, who has done exceptionally well both as a music director and as an actor, has again done what he always does best — trigger interest. The actor has not only come up with interesting plots but has always come up with intriguing titles for his films, which in turn have got audiences interested. For instance, not many knew what Naan was all about, when he first announced its title. The same was the case with some of his other films like India-Pakistan and Pitchaikaran. Now, the actor has again got audiences wondering about his next film by naming it Yaman.
Sources confirm that Vijay Antony will team up once again with director Jeeva Sankar for this film. The two had earlier worked together on Naan. Apart from that, sources say that Mia George has been finalised to play the female lead. Director Jeeva Sankar seems to have understood the significance of keeping his audiences guessing and is not willing to give anything away. All he has said is, “Yaman, as we all think, is not just the god of death but a god of justice. He is known for his unbiased acts. The genre of the film will be one of the most discussed topics in the coming days. Yaman will be an absolute commercial entertainer.”
It isn’t just film buffs who are intrigued by the title. The creative head of the production house working on the film too says he was stunned by the title when he first heard it. In a statement, Raju Mahalingam, creative head of Lyca Productions, admitted, “I was stunned by the title Yaman. However, after the script was narrated to me, I understood its value. Yaman is a devotee of Siva and it is more than just a coincidence that I got this proposal on a visit to a Siva temple. The shooting of Yaman will begin in Chennai this month.”
