Actor-cum-music composer G V Prakash and radio jockey-comedian R J Balaji had a narrow escape on Saturday after their car turned turtle while shooting for an action sequence for director Rajesh’s Kadavul Irrukan Kumaru.

Sources from the unit said the two had suffered injuries but luckily “nothing serious”. When City Express got in touch with Prakash, he confirmed the news and said, “It is true. We were shooting for a stunt sequence for the film. What we had planned originally was for me to be drive the car, when a container lorry hits it twice. However, what happened was that when the lorry hit the car, its rig got caught in the car. This in turn overturned the car. I suffered injuries on my shoulder while Balaji, who was seated next to me, sustained injuries on his nose. However, both of us are okay now and on our way to shoot for the film.”

The team had only recently begun work on the film, which sources say will be different from all of Rajesh’s other films. In fact, Prakash, in an earlier interview to CE, had said this film too would be high on humour, but it would be unique as it would be like “Rajesh’s version of The Hangover”.

The film has two heroines — Nikki Galrani and Avika Gaur. Prakash plays the role of Kumaru, a normal, middle-class guy and will have Balaji with him for company throughout the film. The villain’s role is being played by Prakash Raj. The team intends to release the film by the end of this year.
