It’s not often that you come across a director who looks for kids who know nothing about acting and then trains them so well that they can be cast in a film. So, when that happens, one is naturally interested in the film.

Director Kalyan, who has made a film titled Kadha Solla Porom, says, “My film revolves around children. I needed 20 kids to act in it and over 500 children attended the auditions we conducted. Several kids said they could act well. But I picked kids who said that they didn’t know how to act. I did this for two reasons. First, I thought kids who knew acting would get an opportunity anyway. The second is I thought ‘What is the challenge in making a film with kids who already know how to act?’”

The film, which is aimed at children, is likely to hit screens on May 20. “The story is about 20 children who grow up in an orphanage and long for the love of a mother,” says the director. Sources claim that Censor Board officials who cleared the film for public viewing were moved by the film and were all praise for it. They have also granted the film tax exemption.

The film features about 20 children, including Baby Shibana, Raveena, Aravind, Raghunath, Arjun, and Jeni. Apart from them, it also features actors like Aadukalam Narain, Vijayalakshmi and Kali Venkat.
