Ghazi is Taapsee's only project

If the grapevine is anything to go by, then Taapsee Pannu has cut down on her Telugu projects and is currently focusing only on Ghazi, a Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual, directed by Sankalp, which is based on the PNS Ghazi submarine that sank mysteriously off the Vishakapatnam coast during the Indo-Pak 1971 war in the Bay of Bengal.

Sources say, she chose the script because of the intriguing script and the storyline. “Taapsee plays the role of a refugee in the film, and has been put on a strict diet plan. She’s required to lose oodles of weight to look the part, which she hasn’t played on screen so far. She has been hitting the gym regularly,” the source adds.

Starring Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni, Bharat Reddy and others, the story revolves around a naval officer of the Indian submarine and his team who remain underwater for 18 days. Also, we hear, the film will be partially based on the director’s own book Blue Fish.
