Debutant director JPR has teamed up with Sarathkumar for a sequel to Chennaiyil Oru Naal. The filmmaker tells CE, “This will be a thriller on the lines of Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. The story is based on Rajeshkumar’s novel and Sarathkumar plays an undercover cop. We’ve already started shooting in Coimbatore.”
JPR clarifies that the film isn’t a “proper sequel. The film doesn’t start where it ended. We’ll announce the official title in a couple of weeks.”
The film also features Munishkanth, Anjana Prem and baby Sathanya (of Nisabdham fame) in supporting roles. Rumour has it that Prabhu and Radikaa are also being considered to play important characters.
