CHENNAI: National Award-winning filmmaker Ram's long-delayed Tamil drama "Taramani", starring Andrea Jeremiah and Vasanth in the lead, will hit the screens on August 11, its makers have announced.

In an official poster on Sunday, the makers confirmed the release date.

Said to be a moody urban romantic saga, "Taramani" is jointly produced by Ram and J.S.K. Sathish.

Anjali plays an extended cameo in the film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

"It was at the personal request of direct Ram that I accepted this offer. It's a role quite contrary to anything I've done lately," Anjali had told IANS.

According to Ram, the film delves into the numerous dimensions of a male-female relationship in contemporary life.

Talking about the film, Ram had told IANS: "The film will be lighthearted and entertaining. Audiences will be able to relate with the characters in the film. While Chennai is commonly considered as north and south Chennai, I'm introducing a third and new Chennai, through this flick as well."
