Despite being busy with Vikram Vedha, and other projects that are in different stages of production, Vijay Sethupathi has commenced his next film with Trisha titled 96. The film went on the floors today with a pooja, in keeping with Kollywood traditions.
As the title indicates, the film is reportedly set in the 90s and grapevine has it that Vijay Sethupathi will play the role of a wildlife photographer and sport a new look. Cinematographer Premkumar is debuting as the director with this film which is produced by Madras Enterprises.
Premkumar is notable for his work in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom which also starred Vijay Sethupathi. The supporting cast of 96 includes Kaali Venkat and Vinodhini, while the hunt is on for other supporting actors.
Music is by Malayalam composer Govind Menon. The first schedule will begin in Andaman, with additional schedules to take place in Kolkata, Rajasthan, Pondicherry and Chennai.
