Music composer Ilaiyaraaja has asked the popular Karaoke application Smule to remove his songs from its list citing that it is a matter of copyright infringement.

Music composer Ilaiyaraaja has asked the popular Karaoke application Smule to remove his songs from its list citing that it is a matter of copyright infringement.

In a statement by the maestro's copyright consultant said that Smule is paying to avail Michael Jackson's song in their application but not in the case of Ilaiyaraja. 

The composer will take necessary action after getting a response from the San Fransisco based company.

According to a Silverscreen report, Smule has already taken down many of Ilaiyaraja's songs following the mail from Raja's legal team.

Ilaiyaraja, one of the most famous faces in Indian film music had previously asked singer SP Balasubrahmanyam not to use his songs in his stage shows. The singer received a legal notice from Raja and had to remove some songs from his stage show 'SPB 50'. 

Ilaiyaraja had also asked singer KS Chithra to get prior permission before using his songs on stage shows.
