HYDERABAD: Veteran film producer and actor Atluri Pundarikakshaiah died at Chennai on Thursday after a brief illness. He was 87.

Pundarikakshaiah was born at Gudivada in Krishna district. He made his debut as a supporting actor in the film, 'Palletooru', and produced blockbusters like 'Aradhana', 'Sri Krishnavataram' and 'Mahamantri Timmarusu' with NT Rama Rao.

He produced and acted in Vijayashanti’s 'Kartavyam'. His portrayal as a villain in the won him accolades.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and Megastar Chiranjeevi mourned the veteran film producer.
