Rudhramadevi Not a War Film

Filmmaker Gunasekhar says although upcoming Telugu period film Rudhramadevi is the eponymous story of the warrior queen, it’s not entirely a war film. He says it is also a romantic drama. “Though this is the story of the warrior queen Rudhramadevi; it should not be confused as a war film. There is enough romance in the film to appeal to all types of audiences. It is not entirely a war film,” clarified Gunasekhar.Made on a whopping budget of Rs 70 crore, “Rudhramadevi” will be a visual spectacle, he said. “The Kakatiya dynasty has been recreated with great difficulty. I’m sure audiences are going to love the experience of going back in time. It will be a visual extravaganza for them,” he said.The film is likely to hit the screens in May.”The post-production work is in full swing. Illayaraja sir is busy with the re-recording in London. He is expected to complete in the next couple of weeks. We are expecting to release in May. The date is yet to be locked,” he said.
