HYDERABAD: A Telugu television actor hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Narsingi on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday night.
Pradeep Kumar, who has acted in serials like Saptamatrika and Aruguru Prativatulu, took the step after he returned home late from a birthday bash and had an argument with his wife. He was married to Pavani Reddy, who is also a television actress.
Pavani said that Pradeep Kumar came late to the house after which they had a minor argument.
In a fit of rage, Pradeep smashed a mirror leading to bleeding injuries on the hand.
Pavani claimed that she administered first-aid to the wound and later, Pradeep went inside the bedroom to sleep.
Pavani told police that she slept in the living room.
“I got up in the early hours to wake up Pradeep as he had an early morning shooting schedule. When I opened the door, I found Pradeep hanging from the ceiling fan,'' she told police. Police registered a case and are investigating.
