By 2025, 2.7 billion adults worldwide will suffer from overweight and obesity. Experts estimated that the cost of treating obesity-related illness globally will top 1.2 trillion dollars every year from 2025. On the occasion of World Obesity Day, here's a list of activities one can do to keep you fit and healthy without hitting the gym.

Eating high-protein breakfast has been shown to reduce cravings throughout the day. Do not skip your breakfast, as it's the starting meal of the day. Starting your day with a blood-sugar-stabilizing blend of nutrients will help you slim down without sacrifice.
Base most of your diet on whole foods. Whole foods are those in their natural, unaltered state, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, raw nuts and seeds. They are healthier, more filling and much less likely to cause overeating which is a major cause of obesity.

Drinking water 30 minutes before and after meal helps you in losing weight, as the water gives you a feeling of a full stomach. Besides that water is good for skin and keeps you hydrated throughout the day.
While shopping for groceries, prefer walking. Weight loss is easy, if you keep your body moving. Going to office? Ditch your lift, choose stairs. Long phone calls? Walk while you talk. Get your laziness out, do your household chores. Mopping, sweeping, washing clothes and cleaning can be fun when you think in terms of weight loss.
