Met Gala 2022: In a night of gilded glamour, here's how the stars shone

The celebration of American design was themed to gilded glamour, sprouting classic black-tailed tuxedoes for many of the men and lots of dresses in black and white for the women. Others paid literal homage to New York City, home base for the Gilded Age, and still more shimmered in metallic golds and silver.

This year's only Met Gala guest from India, Natasha Poonawalla, showed off her gilded glamour in a Sabyasachi Mukherjee-designed gold handcrafted printed tulle sari and trail embroidered with silk floss thread and embellished with bevel beads, semi-precious stones, crystals, sequins and appliqued printed velvet, along with a Schiaparelli metal bustier. She was styled by none other than Anaita Shroff Adajania. (Photo | Instagram)
In another showstopping look, Kim Kardashian arrived at the Met Gala wearing the exact sheer dress that yesteryear icon Marilyn Monroe had worn on the birthday event of John F Kennedy. The dress since came to be known as the “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress. (Photo | AP)
