Gauri Lankesh was the editor of 'Gauri Lankesh Patrike' a weekly Kannada tabloid. She was also an activist who voiced against caste system and communal politics. She was worried about the rise of the right wing because of contrasting beliefs.

On Tuesday evening, Gauri left office at 7:30 p.m and upon reaching her home at 8 pm, two bike-borne men shot at her four times, killing the journalist on the spot, the police said. (EPS | Vinod Kumar)
