The radar project was sanctioned in 2002 and by 2003, the procurement for 28 radars were placed. It was designed to track incoming artillery rounds, mortar and rockets and locate their launchers. Akash weapon system: This is a surface-to-air missile defense system developed by the DRDO and produced by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and Bharat Electronics (BEL) . BrahMos missile system: BrahMos is the fastest supersonic cruise missile which can be launched from submarine, ships, aircraft, or land. It was developed by Russian Federation's NPO Mashinostroeyenia and DRDO. The name BrahMos comes from joining the names of two rivers, the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva of Russia. T 90 tank (Bhishma): T 90 is a Russian battle tank which was produced in 1993, and has its origins from the Soviet-era. India showed interest in purchasing the weapon after Pakistan acqired 320 Ukrainian T-84 tanks, and in 2001, India purchased 310 tanks. Tejas Multiple Fighter Aircrafts (HAL Tejas): Tejas is a single-seat, single-jet engine, multirole fighter aircraft. It was created by Aeronautical Development Agency and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The first flight was made on January 4th, 2001 and the flights were intoduced in January 17th, 2015.
