On 29th December last year a fire started at a rooftop pub 'Mojo Bistro' while a birthday party was going on. It spread rapidly through the building, killing 14 people (including 29-year-old birthday girl Khushbu Bansali) and injuring at least 54 others, shortly after midnight in the Kamla Trade House, located in Lower Parel area of south Mumbai.
On sixth of January fire at the Cinevista studio in suburban Kanjurmarg, Mumbai broke out in the late evening . It was brought under control. A TV producer died in the fire.
On 3rd of February thousands of Central Railway commuters were inconvenienced after a fire broke out in one of the coaches of a suburban train at Dadar station. Fortunately no commuters were inujured.
A major fire broke out at a scrap market in suburban Kurla at around 6:30 am on 11 February and quickly escalated to a level 4 fire. The flames engulfed the packing material, stock of oil and chemicals, scrap material kept in the area. No one was hurt in this fire.
A massive fire broke out at a metal godown in Mumbai's Kalachowki area on sixth of March this year. No casualites were reported.
A fire broke out in a multi-storey building 'Beaumonde Tower' in Prabhadevi area where the blaze emanated from the top floor today. The building houses the residence and office of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.
