America and India cheer 'Howdy Modi' in Houston

PM Narendra Modi's reception at the Texas city both by India and Americans is said to be the largest reception for a foreign leader in the United States other than the Pope.

The 'Howdy Modi' event was held at NRG Stadium, Houston, and this was attended by 50000 people. It has been termed as one of the largest ever receptions received by a foreign leader in US. (Photo | Narendra Modi Twitter) 

With the show starting at 10 am US local time on Sunday, the first 90 minutes saw many cultural performances. (Photo| AP)

Following the performances, PM Modi took the stage and welcomed US President Donald Trump at the gathering. (Photo | AP)

The Prime Minister also said that after witnessing the crowd energy, the event is a proof of 'India-US synergy.' (Photo | AP)

The Prime Minister emphasised that it is high time that both countries come together against terrorism and those ' who promote it' indirectly citing that both the conspirators of 9/11 and 26/11 terror attacks were traced to Pakistan. (Photo | AP)

Meanwhile, Trump called for a strong border security, citing that the issue was vital to India also. He added that various defence deals will be signed between both the countries in the coming days. (Photo | AP)
