Railway minister presents five awards to SCR

HYDERABAD:  The performance efficiency of South Central Railway in various spheres of operations during the year 2016-17 was met with recognition at the National Level on Indian Railways, with the Zone bagging a record five All India Performance Efficiency Shields, to put it on the first place.


Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu presented the shields to SCR General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav on the occasion of 62nd Railway Week National Awards function held on Saturday at Sri Sathya Sai Sowbhagyam, Centre for Human Development, Raipur, Chattisgarh.


The five performance efficiency shields awarded for SCR were for Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environment and Cleanliness and Stores Departments. The Principal Heads of the Departments concerned joined the General Manager to receive the awards.


In his address on the occasion, Suresh Prabhu said that Indian Railways should fulfil the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Measures need to be taken up to implement new ideas on Indian Railways, he said. He called for all departments to work together and address challenges.
