HYDERABAD: The drug scene in Hyderabad is turning out to be beyond one’s imagination. With Dutch-national Mike Kamminga’s arrest, it has come to light that one of the most powerful hallucinogenic drug DMT has made inroads into the city. A small quantity of 5 grams of DMT crystal is sold on darknet for as much as 500 US dollars (Rs 32,000 INR).

The 33-year-old has been living in a gated community in Nanakramguda, Gachibowli and it is learnt that prominent Tollywood personalities too live there.
Kamminga, who was caught by Excise sleuths, proved to be a tough nut to crack as he continuously refused to give out any information. He neither gave information about the source from where he procured the drugs or to whom he sold them to, sources said. Officials are trying to look into his phone and laptop to get information.

Online description states that when DMT is consumed, it makes a person experience distorted reality and sees images, which lasts for a few minutes. Its effects are often compared with that of Ayahuasca which reportedly gives spiritual experiences.

Till date, law enforcement agencies here have seized Cocaine, MDMA, LSD and other drugs. This is the first time that they seized DMT. Sources said that they got lead about him through people they questioned.
