HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has announced awards for the best colony in each zone. GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy has appealed to Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to come forward to participate in the competition.

The last date for submission of application is May 31. As part of the World Environment Day on June 5, RWAs and other NGOs should actively participate.

The RWAs are considered a key component in  society and, in order to appreciate the commitment of RWAs to development, the GHMC has decided to award the best RWA in the city.

In this regard, a self-declaration format consisting of 11 components has been formulated to assess the RWAs. The RWAs can obtain the self-assessment form by sending a mail request to rwas.ghmc@gmail.com or also from the offices of the deputy commissioners of GHMC.
The best Resident Welfare Association will be awarded on June 5 on World Environment Day.
