NEW DELHI: Taking a cue from US President elect Barrack Obama, who ran a high profile, interactive and internet campaign, the BJP launched a website on L K Advani, who celebrated his 81st birthday on Saturday.
At the BJP headquarters here, former J&K Governor S K Sinha launched the portal, www.lkadvani.in.Former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP president Rajnath Singh said the party has to use the IT-enabled services to reach out to the people.
President Pratibha Patil and Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee conveyed their greetings to Advani, while Prime Minister Manmohan Singh personally called up to greet him. Several NDA leaders called on Advani at his residence here to greet him on his birthday.
