NEW DELHI: Stepping up the campaign for justice to Ruchika Girhotra, the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday asked the Centre and Haryana Government to reopen the Ruchika molestation case and file fresh charges of abetment to suicide against DGP SPS Rathore. Chairperson of NCW Girija Vyas also wanted that the case under charges of criminal conspiracy should be registered against those who backed Rathore in the entire episode.

Addressing a press conference, Girija Vyas underlined the need for reinvestigation of the entire case and charges should include the attempt to murder of Ruchika’s brother and criminal conspiracy. Girija said, “We want abetment to suicide charges against Rathore in Ruchika case. Any person involved in criminal conspiracy and subversion of justice should also be tried in the case. We do not want anybody to go scot-free.” “We intend to get compensation to family members for mental torture,” she added.
