Kalyan Singh’s homecoming likely during Navratras

Express News Service

Former BJP leader Kalyan Singh on Friday called a meeting of his party — Jan Kranti Party — over the decision for its merger with the BJP to sense the mood of his partymen.

The meeting was held here at the residence of the veteran leader. His partymen told Kalyan that he was their leader and they would honour his decision.

Kalyan, however, said the meeting was organised to review the developing political situation in the state and ‘the decision for rejoining the party (BJP) would be taken soon’.

Sources said that Kalyan and the BJP may choose the auspicious ‘Navratras’ for the merger.

State BJP president Laxmi Kanth Bajpai, who is struggling to make an impact as the head of the party, said: “Kalyan is our elder brother and a guide. He is always welcome. Petty confusions and misgivings developed in the past between us, which don’t matter now.”
