Sachin Pilot's uncle shot in Uttar Pradesh

An uncle of union minister Sachin Pilot was Tuesday shot at in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur town, leaving him critically injured and on life support, police said.

Ashok Kasana, 60, was sleeping in his cattle yard in Nizampur locality when two men scaled a wall and barged in before dawn.

One of them opened fire from a .38 pistol while the other stabbed him with a knife, after which both fled.

The victim's sons rushed him to a hospital in Ghaziabad. His pancreas, intestines and liver suffered gunshot wounds. After a six-hour surgery, the patient was put on life support.
