Model and former Miss Chennai Bidushi Dash Barde was found dead in her residence in Mumbai on Monday. According to police, Bidushi (23) was found dead in her residence at Manish Nagar society in Andheri West. Bidushi, who won the Miss Chennai pageant in 2006, lived with her husband Kedar, an IT engineer.

Police said Kedar returned home from work at 9 pm on Monday and did not get any response when he repeatedly rang the doorbell. When he was convinced that Bidushi was not in the house, he opened the door with his own set of keys and found her in a pool of blood in the drawing room. She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Kedar told police that he last saw Bidushi when he left for work at 7.30 am on Monday. When he called her at 9.30 am there was no response. He told police Bidushi was lying near a glass shelf which was broken. Shards of glass had pierced her face and neck. He said that since Bidushi was a diabetic she would often feel lightheaded and there was a possibility that she could have collapsed on the glass shelf resulting in the fatal injuries. Police registered a case of murder against unknown persons and are examining surveillance videos of the apartment for intruders.
