Brave Train Driver Averts Major Mishap

Timely action by the engine driver of 12433-Chennai Central- Hazrat Nizamuddin Express averted a major mishap after the engine of the train derailed, when a herd of cattle strayed on the railway track in Vidisha district of MP.

Timely action by the engine driver of 12433-Chennai Central- Hazrat Nizamuddin Express averted a major mishap after the engine of the train derailed, when a herd of cattle strayed on the railway track in Vidisha district of MP.

According to railway officials, the train, which was running at the speed of 100 Km at the time of accident, was stopped by the driver by applying emergency brakes.

“The accident took place at Karondia level crossing between Sanchi and Salamatpur station at around 9.45 am.

“ As soon as the driver noticed the cattle crossing the track between poles 872 and 878, he applied the emergency brakes,” said a railway official.
