PATNA: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav on Tuesday slammed Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) supremo Jitan Ram Manjhi and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan for demanding President’s rule in the state and said both leaders are making desperate attempts to save their sinking political careers.
Yadav told the media that neither Paswan nor Manjhi is worried about Bihar, adding the state has lagged behind on the development front because of people like them.
“They're are not worried about Bihar but are trying to revive their political career. The political careers of Jitan Ram Manjhi and Ram Vilas Paswan are on the verge of collapse. It is for politicians like these that our state is not able to develop at a rapid pace,” Yadav said.
“The BJP has this habit of toppling governments. They were shamed in Uttarakhand. They are murders of democracy,” he added.
Claiming that political murders and lawlessness have become the order of the day in Bihar, Paswan and Manjhi had earlier demanded President's rule in the Nitish Kumar-ruled state.
A delegation of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) met President Pranab Mukherjee and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh last week and handed over a memorandum demanding President's rule in Bihar.
