Goa bypolls: 40 percent polling registered in Panaji and Valpoi constituencies

PANAJI: Brisk polling was witnessed for the Panaji and Valpoi assembly bypolls in Goa on Wednesday with around 40 per cent polling being registered, an election official here said.
While Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is one of the key contestants in the Panaji by-poll along with Congress's Girish Chodankar, in Valpoi, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane of the BJP takes on Congress's Roy Naik.
There are 22,203 eligible voters in Panaji assembly constituency and 28,829 registered voters in Valpoi constituency, located around 40 km from here.
