RAIPUR: The BJP’s student wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) conducted a ‘havan’ (a ritual) against its own parent party in Chhattisgarh’s Balrampur district for not holding the students’ union election this year.

ABVP volunteers chanted mantras around the sacrificial fire against the state government’s decision not to hold students union elections. They also took out a rally in the town and submitted a memorandum to the Balrampur sub-divisional magistrate.

“We don’t accept the government’s decision to not conduct students’ union elections and instead go ahead with nominated office-bearers,” said the ABVP’s Balrampur president Shubham Tiwari.
