ALLAHABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's estranged wife Jashodaben today stressed on "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" at a mass wedding ceremony here and urged people to ensure proper education is imparted to the girl-child.

Speaking at the ceremony organised by the Sahu Ekta Manch, Jashodaben congratulated the 40 couples from Robertsganj, Mirjapur, Kanpur and Bhadohi who tied the knot.

Sahu Ekta Manch chairperson Chandrika Prasad Sahu said this was Jashodaben's first visit to Allahabad and she would take a holy dip in the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical river Saraswati and attend the 'Ganga Arti' there tomorrow.
