GANDHINAGAR: The re-polling at six polling stations of Gujarat commenced today.

It is being conducted in  Vadgam, Viramgam, Daskroi and Savli polling stations.

The re-polling was ordered on Friday late night, citing technical reasons, where the Election Commission annulled the polling data that was present in the EVMs.

Ahead of re-polling in the areas of Gujarat, security has been beefed up with polling agents, officers and police jawans prepared and stationed at their respective places for the elections.

Elections were held in these six polling stations in the second phase of Gujarat Assembly polls on December 14.

Apart from this, counting of votes will be done through counting of slips in VVPAT in 10 polling stations in Visnagar, Becharaji, Modasa, Vejalpur, Vatva, Jamalpur-Khadia, Savli and Sankheda as the presiding officers did not clear from the control unit the votes that were cast during mock poll, the poll commission added.

The results of the Gujarat Assembly election will be announced on December 18.
