Stone-pelting youths clash with security forces in Kashmir

The clashes were going on till last reports came in but there were no reports of any casualties so far, the official said.

SRINAGAR: Youths waving Pakistani flags today clashed with security forces and pelted stones after Friday prayers at several places in old Srinagar city.   

Young boys with their faces covered were carrying green and white Pakistani flags as several dozen youths raised slogans after Friday prayers ended at Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of the city, a police official said.  

He said the youths also hurled stones at security personnel who used tear smoke shells and batons to chase away the miscreants.        

The clashes were going on till last reports came in but there were no reports of any casualties so far, the official said.  

Stone-pelting incidents were also reported from several other places in north Kashmir and south Kashmir, he added.
