Chhattisgarh: 35 students have miraculous escape after school bus slides into ditch

RAIPUR: As many as 35 students had a miraculous escape on Friday when their school bus went off the road after its steering wheel got stuck on the way to school in Jangir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh.

The driver of the Sarvodaya Public School bus lost control when the steering wheel apparently got locked and the students escaped unhurt with the bus sliding into a ditch beside the highway at Chandrapur, police said.

The children's parents blamed the school management for not carrying out routine maintenance of buses. Police have registered a case against the bus driver.
