MALDA: Three undertrial prisoners were today arrested, hours after they escaped from the prisoners cell of Malda Medical College and Hospital, police said.

They were arrested from an area under Gajol police station limits, 25 km from the hospital, within six hours, they said.

The prisoners had escaped the cell yesterday through a window in the toilet, police said.

The medical superintendent of the hospital said, "The prisoners cell is guarded by two police personnel."
