Heavy rain lashes Nashik, farmer killed in lightning strike

NASHIK; The city and some adjoining areas experienced heavy rain along with thunderstorm till late last
night while a farmer was killed when lightning struck him in a village here, as per the district collector's office.

The district received 374.3 mm rain in the 24 hours ending at 8 am today, according to an official of the
Meteorological department.

Nashik's Igatpuri tehsil received 74 mm rain, Dindori tehsil got 40 mm while the temple town of Trimbakeshwar received 34 mm rain during the period, he said.

Some other parts in the district also experienced heavy rain causing damage to crops and uprooting of trees, an official in the district collector's said.

A 30-year-old farmer from Chinchohal village died after lightning struck him last evening, he said.
