After PM shows inability in granting special status to AP, JD (U) minister demands it for Bihar

SAMASTIPUR: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Lok Sabha about government's inability to grant special status to Andhra Pradesh, senior JD (U) leader and Bihar building construction minister Maheshwar Hajari today demanded special status for Bihar.

After holding a meeting with party workers, Hajari in his interaction with media-persons at district JD (U) office said here that common people were demanding special status to Bihar. He said that a resolution to that effect was unanimously passed in Bihar Assembly too.

Hajari said JD (U) had organised a rally at Ramlila Ground in New Delhi in support of special status to Bihar. To a query, he said his party`s stand on special status to Bihar was unchanged.

JD (U) Rajya Sabha member Ramnath Thakur, former minister Ram Lakhan Mahto, JD (U) MLA Vidyasagar Nishad, former MP and district JD (U) president Ashwamegh Devi and former state JD (U) vice-president Prof. Shahid Ahmed and other leaders were present on the occasion.
