Gujarat police have arrested a Class 10 student in connection with the murder of a class nine student who was found dead with multiple wounds in a Vadodara school toilet.

The accused's school bag which was recovered from a temple terrace near the school, contained three big knives and one bottle full of red chilli solution. A 12-inch knife was found at the murder spot, an official told Hindustan Times.

The incident took place around 12 noon, between the two shifts of the school, the police said yesterday.

The victim, a student of Bharti School in Baranpora area, was accosted when he was headed to his classroom on the first floor, they added.

According to reports, preliminary investigation revealed that the two students had a dispute earlier, however, the police are yet to uncover the exact reason for the fight between the duo.

The victim had joined the school only a week ago and was staying with his maternal uncle, while his parents live in Gujarat's Anand town, the police said.

This brutal murder brings back chilling memories of the murder of a seven-year-old boy in a Gurugram school. A class 11 student had allegedly slit the throat of his schoolmate who was later found dead in a pool of blood in his school's washroom on September 8 last year.
