NEW DELHI:  Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said on Friday that the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) is not controlled by the Pakistani establishment, but by terrorist groups.

“The territory which has been illegally occupied by Pakistan is not controlled by the Pakistani establishment, it is controlled by terrorists. PoK is actually a terrorist-controlled country,” Rawat said while delivering the Field Marshal KM Carriapa Memorial lecture in Delhi.

He added that “the state of Jammu & Kashmir includes PoK and Gilgit Baltistan. PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan are territories illegally occupied by our western neighbour.”Rawat cautioned Pakistan against any “misadventure”, saying India is ready to respond. He also said the world’s best rifle—the Sig Sauer from America—will be available to the infantry soldiers by the end of this year.
