Rhea Chakraborty has no stature to comment on CM Nitish Kumar: Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey

The comment from the Bihar DGP came just days after Chakraborty approached the Supreme Court to file an affidavit seeking an end to media trial.

PATNA: Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey created a flutter when he  commented that actor Rhea Chakraborty didn’t have the “stature” to comment on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. “The court order is a victory of justice. There is hope among the people that the truth in the case will come out,” he told the media in Patna.

He said Rhea, in her affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, had linked the Bihar government’s  stance with the upcoming Assembly polls. “Rhea Chakraborty does not have the aukat (stature) to comment on the Bihar Chief Minister. What the police did was correct, and according to legal and constitutional provisions,” he said.

Pandey was also critical of the Mumbai Police, saying  the Bihar Police was being questioned as to why it filed a case. “We were not allowed to investigate. When we sent an IPS officer, he was quarantined at night like a prisoner, which made us feel that there was something wrong,” Pandey said. “This is a high-profile case and many people are scared of being exposed.” Sushant’s father KK Singh had last month filed an FIR with a police station in Patna.

Thereafter, a four-member Patna police team visited Mumbai for investigation. But the Mumbai Police had bluntly refused to support to the Bihar Police team, finally leading the Nitish government to recommend a CBI inquiry.
