Chef Vikas Khanna unveils cover of his special book ‘Utsav’

Five-time Michelin starred Chef Vikas Khanna unveiled the cover of ‘Utsav’, a culinary epic of Indian festivals - a gold-encrusted, 16 kilo, 1,200 page book - in Manipal on Friday during annual ‘Utsav 2017’ of Manipal Univeristy. Earlier, he presented a copy of the book to Dr Ramdas M Pai, president and chancellor of Manipal University.

MANIPAL:  Five-time Michelin starred Chef Vikas Khanna unveiled the cover of ‘Utsav’, a culinary epic of Indian festivals - a gold-encrusted, 16 kilo, 1,200 page book - in Manipal on Friday during annual ‘Utsav 2017’ of Manipal Univeristy.

Earlier, he presented a copy of the book to Dr Ramdas M Pai, president and chancellor of Manipal University.


Thousands of cheering students provided Chef Vikas the perfect setting for a memorable launch. It was an emotional moment as well for the alumnus of Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration as he had his mother Bindu Khanna by his side as well. 


Vikas has presented his culinary delights to eminent personalities from across the world, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Queen Elizabeth II and former US President Barack Obama.

The book is a unique collection of Indian festivals, ceremonies and rituals related to the food cooked and served during Indian festivals.
