KPCC issues notice to NCW

BENGALURU: The legal cell of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has taken strong exception to the notice issued to Home Minister G Parameshwara by the National Commission for Women on his alleged statements insulting women. The minister was in the dock in the aftermath of the incidents of alleged molestation that occurred on New Year’s Eve for his statements where he allegedly said such incidents tend to occur during such events.

The letter addressed to NCW Chairperson by C M Dhananjaya, chairman of KPCC legal cell, says the notice was defamatory.

It states, “You have issued the notice to gain political mileage and have done only to please the BJP government who nominated you. Many women party workers and public have approached me and expressed their serious displeasure and anguish for the issue of notice to such a distinguished leader. Hence, I am issuing this notice to you.”
The letter also states that failing an apology, a defamation case would be filed.
