MANGALURU: Following a family dispute over a 1.6 acre land, a man tried to immolate his mother at Nettarakodynear Beltangady on Saturday. Harish Gowda and his wife Divyaprabha had demanded a portion of the land to be registered in their name.
As proceedings were still underway in Court and Harish’s parents decided to draw a boundary on the land. Angry over this, Harish and Divyaprabha poured petrol on her and tried to burn her alive. Radhamma shouted for help and her husband and several others rescued her while the duo fled from the spot.
